    Another Code: Recollection is a 2024 puzzle-adventure game developed by Arc System Works and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Released worldwide on January 19, 2024, it is a remake of two classic point-and-click adventure games originally developed by Cing: Another Code: Two Memories (2005, Nintendo DS) and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories (2009, Wii). The remake introduces enhanced visuals, updated gameplay mechanics, and narrative changes to streamline the stories of both games.

    Story

    The game follows Ashley Mizuki Robins, a teenager searching for answers about her parents' mysterious past:

    • First Game (Two Memories): Ashley travels to Blood Edward Island after receiving a letter from her father, whom she believed to be dead. On the island, she explores a mansion filled with puzzles and meets a ghost named D.
    • Second Game (Journey into Lost Memories): Two years later, Ashley visits Lake Juliet to uncover the truth about her mother. This sequel was previously unavailable in North America but is now included in the collection.

    Gameplay

    • Players control Ashley in fully 3D environments using a third-person perspective.
    • The "DAS" (Dual Another System), resembling a Nintendo Switch, serves as an investigative tool for taking photos, scanning QR codes, and tracking character relationships.
    • New features include voice acting, an optional hint system for puzzles, and overhauled visuals with comic book-style panels during interactions.
    • The game emphasizes exploration and puzzle-solving over action. Players gather clues from objects and characters to unravel mysteries.

    Development

    The remake was announced during Nintendo Direct in September 2023. It marks the return of Taisuke Kanasaki, the original director and art designer, who contributed to this updated version. A demo was released on December 14, 2023, allowing players to try the first chapter before purchasing the full game.
