WarioWare: Ultimate Mini-Game Challenge!
WarioWare: Get It Together! is a party video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It was released worldwide on September 10, 2021, and is the tenth installment in the WarioWare series, following WarioWare Gold for the Nintendo 3DS.
Story
The game begins with Wario and his friends at WarioWare Inc. completing a new game. However, when Wario tries to play it, the console doesn't work as expected, and he throws it in frustration. This action sucks him and his friends into the game, turning them into miniature versions of themselves. Inside the game, they discover it is plagued by "Game Bugs," which they must defeat to escape.
After defeating the final bug, they meet the Supreme Developer, who reveals he brought them into the game to fix it. The crew escapes but soon realizes that some members are still trapped. They return to the game to rescue them and eventually encounter Pyoro, the main character of another game, who has taken up residence in Wario's game for fun.
Gameplay
WarioWare: Get It Together! features over 200 quick and quirky microgames that players can complete solo or with a friend. The twist in this installment is that players control Wario and his friends directly within the microgames, using their unique abilities to solve challenges. Characters like Wario, Mona, and 18-Volt have distinct movements and actions that can be used to clear microgames in different ways.
The game includes a story mode where players progress through levels to unlock new characters and modes. It also features party-style minigames for up to four players and a ranked mode called the Wario Cup. Players can give "prezzies" to characters to level them up and customize their appearance.
Reception
The game has been praised for its absurd humor and quick-paced gameplay, making it an enjoyable experience, especially in co-op mode. However, some critics noted that the side content could be more compelling. As of its release, it sold 1.34 million copies worldwide.
